Wimberley Valley Amateur Radio Club

My story of the Wimberley Ham Group - Jim Satterwhite K4HJU

To the best of my knowledge, The Wimberley Ham Group breakfasts at the Wimberley Cafe began circa 2004 - 2006.  I became a participant around 2012 after meeting and getting to know Mac McCullough W5MC and he invited me to join in.  It became a part of my life and eventually led to my move to Woodcreek in 2015.  It has been an interesting experience and an integral part of my life.  My perception is that we always considered it a group and the label of club is quite new.  Members have come and gone, some silent keys,; however, there is a core group that has been coming for the long haul.  The concept of the club came about with the idea of getting Wimberley Cafe coffee cups with the call and you get it, the "Club" logo on it.  So, we have to have a logo and Burns stepped and got some sample logos created and the Club voted and selected the logo above.  So the Club was born.

I invite others to write up their story and send it to me and I will include it here.  This is meant to be information and items of interest to the club.  I know there are some among us that have some interesting stories to tell.
